Talent Directory
We have passed out a Talent Directory to everyone at church, so if you didn't get a copy, there are copies available in the narthex. Every member of this church should be able to fill one of these out! In it, it lists the positions in the church you would be interested in, what opportunities you have to work for your church, how you can give to your church by using your talents, etc. Make sure to get yours filled out and turn in to either the Pastor or Darla Mills. |

Love Thy Neighbor.....?
....Then how about inviting them to church? "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." I Timothy 3,4. We have a special "Welcome Committee" working on this project. We have created Welcome Baskets and when we have someone new move into our neighborhood, we go to their home after church on Sunday and leave a basket for them. Baskets include miscellaneous household items like sponges, dish towels, candles, etc. plus fresh fruit. We also include a recent bulletin, newsletter and flier about our church and welcome these people to visit our church if they do not have one. You can help, too! Let us know if someone has moved into your neighborhood and we'll drop a basket by! Love your neighbor? Then shine your candle and help them find GOD!! |

Food Pantry
The second Sunday of each month is designated as Food Pantry Sunday. We want everyone to bring a non-perishable item to church with them so we can keep the Food Pantry stocked! We have a need we are filling as we speak and the weather's getting cooler, so we are really going to need some support with this! We provide a box in the Narthex for collections, so if you forget a donation on the second Sunday, don't worry! Just bring it with you the next Sunday. Donations are always welcome!! |
|
UMW (United Methodist Women)

Mary Lou Edens - UMC Deaconess
Why do we collect pennies on the last Sunday of every month?
Mary Lou Edens is a Deaconess with the United Methodist Church's General Board of Global Missions. Her mission, the Tracy Jackson Program of G.I.F.T. in Abbeville County, is a grassroots program for local children that supplies meals to needy children. "All our sites have blessings at meals. For some children this is a new experience. Children learn to help each other. All our sites do some form of Christian Education, lovingly. All children 18 and under are welcome." Mary Lou is a retired school teacher (33 years) and is devoting herself to these children who are nutritionally at risk.
So.......now you know what all those pennies are for! |
